Overview
Pirika Inc. is an environmental startup whose mission is to “conquer every environmental problem with science and technology.” Since its founding, the company has focused on stopping litter leakage into nature. Its crowd-sourced litter-picking app “Pirika” is used in 134 countries, while its AI survey service “Takanome” has mapped the equivalent of 50 laps around the Earth in illegal dumping and litter data. Backed by commercial projects with UNEP and other international clients, Pirika continues to expand its technology-driven solutions worldwide.
Initiative details
In partnership with Japanese officers at UNEP, UNDP, and the World Bank, Pirika will select three environmental startups and guide them through a three-step global sales program: (1) introductions to key contacts in international agencies and coaching on proposal strategy, (2) hands-on support for pitching to overseas municipalities and corporations, and (3) provision of a ¥10 million overseas-expansion grant per company. By accompanying each firm from market targeting to deal negotiation, the program aims to build a ¥300 million future-revenue pipeline (≈ ¥100 million per startup) and convert these leads into signed contracts and recorded revenue.
