Overview
SPACETIDE is an organization that hosts the international space business conference “SPACETIDE,” which was established in 2015. Based in Tokyo, it connects a wide range of stakeholders—including government agencies, large corporations, startups, investors, and academia—to foster cross-sector dialogue and co-creation in the space industry. In addition to its annual conference, SPACETIDE develops initiatives such as the industry report “COMPASS” and the space-focused career event “Career Connect,” aiming to address shared challenges across the space sector. “SPACETIDE 2025,” is scheduled to be held in Toranomon, Tokyo, in July 2025.
Initiative details
Our initiative is an ecosystem-building program aiming to create five unicorn space startups from Japan with valuations exceeding 100 billion yen by the 2030s. To address key challenges faced by space startups—such as securing commercial demand, demonstrating technology, raising capital, and expanding internationally—the program offers a comprehensive suite of initiatives, including an acceleration program, business matchmaking events, ecosystem development, and global expansion support. By leveraging SPACETIDE’s extensive industry network and operational expertise, the program accelerates the growth of space startups and the emergence of globally competitive unicorns originating from Tokyo.
