This initiative aims to strengthen the early-stage startup support infrastructure in Tokyo by launching an open angel investor community called Tokyo Angel Network (TAN). The program will expand the pool of angel investors—particularly those with operational and global experience—who can not only provide funding, but also offer hands-on support in areas such as idea validation, product feedback, and initial customer acquisition, especially during the pre-seed stage where venture capital is typically not yet involved. Through these efforts, the program aims to generate a new cohort of at least 10 active angels who either invest or support startups as advisors, and to foster early-stage success for Tokyo-based startups by improving both the quality and quantity of support available.
