【Oct. 23】TOKYO SUTEAM – Meet-Up Session for FY24 Q3 has been concluded!

As part of the TOKYO SUTEAM initiative, a meet-up session for all selected entities is held every quarter to foster connection between the various projects. The 5th meet-up for FY23 entities and the 1st for the FY24 cohort, this meet-up session strengthened the bond between the organizations through the exchange of information regarding their programs. Main purpose of this session was to introduce the FY24 cohort to the existing members, with 94 entities and more than 160 people in attendance, an opportunity to interact with like-minded organizations to discuss potential collaborations was provided.

Details

The meet-up session kicked off with a welcome remark for the FY23 and FY24 cohorts separately from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, followed by housekeeping from the admin; including information regarding the extension of the agreement for select projects for FY23 and preliminary remarks in starting the projects to the FY24 cohorts.

Following, the President Ayumi Fujimoto and Vice President Masaru Nagura of Startup Ecosystem Association Japan provided a presentation on DEI & Harassment with a focus on providing inclusivity in the promotion of each entity’s projects. Not only did they mention the negative aspects of neglecting diversity, equity and inclusion, they gave insight on how DEI can lead to better performance within a team and its necessity in enlivening the startup ecosystem as a whole.

During networking, FY23 and FY24 cohorts alike joined in to connect with like-minded organizations to discuss potential collaboration opportunities as well as to learn from the hardships the FY23 cohorts had faced in promoting their project for the past year. The admin received countless requests to bring together certain organizations, especially between those who are not yet acquainted. Many participants expressed the importance and necessity of physical networking, expectations for the subsequent meet-ups evident.
