This project aims to build a “CTO Supply and Development Ecosystem” to address the shortage of CTO talent—a key challenge in commercializing university-based technological seeds. Through our past work in deep tech commercialization and hands-on support, we’ve often seen promising technologies fail to reach the market or face growth barriers post-commercialization due to the lack of CTOs with the engineering capabilities to advance projects from the research phase to societal implementation. To tackle this, we propose a plan focusing on three key areas: 1) building a diverse pool of CTO talent, 2) fostering CTOs through collaboration with our capitalists, management professionals, and existing deep tech startup CTOs, and 3) diversifying matching routes with technological seeds. Leveraging our assets in each area, we aim to establish two new deep tech startups based in Tokyo as a primary outcome.
